About Kahnawake
The Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake is a sovereign jurisdiction located just outside Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Kahnawake Gaming Commission was established in 1996 and has been continuously granting licenses and regulating online gaming since July 1999, long before any jurisdiction in the world.

Kahnawake Gambling License
For over 10 years now, Kahnawake Gaming Commission has been granting licenses, and has regulated wide variety of interactive game sites. It was one of the first jurisdictions to take advantage of the opportunity that interactive gaming industry offered.
The Kahnawake Gaming Commission,
empowered by the Kahnawake Gaming Law, licenses and regulates both
interactive gaming and terrestrial poker rooms, within the jurisdiction of
Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake.
Types of Licenses granted by the Kahnawake Gambling Commission
Interactive Gaming License (IGL): it is only granted to a hosting facility within the territory. There is only one IGL existing, since they can only be issued at any given time. Mohawk Internet Technologies holds this IGL.
Client Provider Authorization (CPA): this license is granted to organization that want to hold online gaming, such as casino, poker and/or sports-book. They must be hosted at the hosting facility who owns the IGL. The valid holder of this license is called an Authorized Client Provider.
Secondary Client Provider Authorization (Secondary CPA): this license is very similar to the CPA, however, it applies to companies who want to provide the service from the local hosting facility, but their primary activities are based in another jurisdiction recognized by the Commission. They should comply with all the requirements of the Commission, except showing KGC`s logo, on the site.
Key Person License (KPL): license granted to at least one person, who carries out management tasks, on behalf of the company that holds a CPA. The KPL information is confidential.
Approved Agent
An approved agent is an entity that can perform for and on behalf of the KGC to ensure that the online gaming activities are carried out in a properly manner.
The KGC may appoint an Approved Agent to carry out the following tasks:

To conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether an applicant or holder of the license is suitable to provide online gaming activities in Kahnawake.

To ensure through tests, audits and system controls that the applicant or holder of the license has the required level of technical competence to provide the online gaming services in Kahnawake.

To assist in the application of an appropriate continuous compliance program for every gaming operation that is licensed by the KGC.
